One of the first albums I got on my own was Countdown to Extinction. I told myself that Dave Mustaine (the singer) got kicked out of Metallica because he was too metal and not because he was a crazy, drug addict. The other day Mustaine came out to endorse republican-presidential candidate Rick Santorum. Maybe it was the crack he smoked with Slash? Or the speedballs? I’d really prefer that musicians I loved as a kid not endorsehomophobic, anti-birth-control, sexist, racist, religious-extremist presidential candidates.
